In Like a Lion...

Spring has brought with it a cold for Ava. Her first cold, which she has quickly passed on to me. So far it's just a congested cough that wakes her (read: us) up frequently, and a little bit of snotty nose. I'm hoping and praying that it remains mild and we both recover quickly. Do you remember when your first baby got his/her first cold? I've been dreading this day, but I knew it had to come eventually.

Baby Foods

Ava is trying new things. New foods, that is. So far she really likes sweet potatoes and doesn't like peas, green beans, or avocado. Pretty much anything green. Well that's not good, now is it? I'm guessing it's normal though?

Jason (2 mo.) & Ava (7 mo.)

Here are Jason (Cousin Heidi's baby) and Ava.

Jason--2 months; Ava--7 months.

Jason weight at last checkup: 14lbs. Ava's weight at last checkup: just under 13lbs.

Jason's birthweight: 8.10 (I think). Ava's birthweight: 3.6.

And Ava wins by a foot! (A baby foot).

Not-So-Old Yeller

Ava has recently started yelling, a skill I think she learned from playing with her cousins. The best yells are at the end of the video.

I'm Mad, I Tell You

Mad, as in CA-RAZY! I just signed up for a 100-mile bike ride/race in June. Although it's no big deal to Ryan to ride 100 miles, it's a huge deal to me. The most I've ever ridden is like 25 miles. And I haven't really been riding for almost a year. So there's my motivation to get back into shape. My friend Sheri invited me to join her and her sister, and since she has a 3-week old baby, I couldn't use a new baby as my excuse for not doing it. It's an all girls race, and I hear it's lots of fun. So now it's time for me to get in shape, and get my derriere accustomed to 5 hours on a bike seat. Anyone want to join us? Registration is filling up fast, so don't delay!
